This policy explains information that may be processed when you browse the site, play a game, use an account feature, accept optional analytics or contact LimeGrid.
Browsing and playing without an account
Most LimeGrid pages can be used without sending your name or email address. Games may use essential browser storage, including local storage, to remember settings, saved progress or your privacy choice on that device. Clearing site data in your browser can remove that information.
Optional Google Analytics
LimeGrid uses Google Analytics 4 only after you choose Accept analytics in the privacy panel. If you choose Essential only, the Google Analytics tag is not loaded. You can reopen the panel at any time using the Cookie choices button in the footer.
When enabled, Google Analytics may measure the page visited, approximate country or region, browser and device type, referral source, general engagement and selected site events such as printing a recipe or starting a game. LimeGrid does not intentionally send names, email addresses, passwords or the text of support messages to Google Analytics. Google states that Google Analytics 4 does not log or store individual IP addresses.
Analytics information is used to understand which games and guides are useful, identify technical problems and improve navigation and performance. Advertising personalisation signals are disabled in LimeGrid's Analytics tag. Learn more in Google's Privacy Policy.
Accounts and saved crossword progress
The Crossword page offers an optional sign-in feature. When used, the service may process an email address, authentication information and puzzle-progress data needed to restore a game. Passwords are handled by the authentication provider and should never be sent to LimeGrid by email.
Messages, suggestions and recipe reviews
When you email support@limegrid.net, LimeGrid receives the email address, message and attachments you choose to send. That information is used to respond, investigate a problem, review a correction or recipe comment, or consider a suggestion.
Advertising
LimeGrid has applied to use Google AdSense. If advertising is activated, Google or its partners may use cookies or similar technologies subject to applicable consent and privacy controls. LimeGrid will update its consent tools and this policy before enabling advertising that requires additional choices.
Services that help the games work
Some games use trusted online services to load puzzles, look up dictionary details, unscramble letters, sign users in or save progress. These services receive only the information needed to complete the request, such as the letters entered, the requested word or saved-puzzle details.

Retention and choices
Support records are retained only as long as reasonably needed for the request and normal records. Analytics retention is controlled through LimeGrid's Google Analytics settings. You can clear browser storage, avoid optional sign-in, choose Essential only, reopen Cookie choices, or contact LimeGrid about account and privacy questions.
Children and family use
LimeGrid is designed to be family-friendly, but it is not directed specifically to young children. Parents and guardians should supervise account creation, analytics choices or email contact by minors.
